What is API With Example |
What is API? (Application Programming Interface)
API is a medium that helps us to make the communication Between Frontend and Backed. An API takes your request from the device and fetches the response from the server.
For Example, The weather bureau’s software system contains daily weather data. The weather app on your phone “talks” to this system via APIs and shows you daily weather updates on your phone.
What Does API Stand For?
API Stands For Application Programming Interface.
Example of API
Let's understand the API with a real-time example.
Suppose, Sandeep wants to eat Litti-Chokha, Sandeep Will order Litti-Chokha using any Food Delivery application like Zomato or Swiggy. The restaurant owner Prepares the Litti-Chokha and hands it over to the delivery Partner. and the delivery partner delivered the same to Sandeep.
Here Delivery partner works the same as the API, The Delivery partner Sends the Request for Litti-Chokha from Sandeep to the Restaurant and Collects the (Response) Litti-Chokha From the Restaurant and delivers Sandeep.
API also works the same send requests from the device and fetch the response from the server.
API Protocols
- SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)
- XML-RPC (XML-Remote Procedure Call)
- JSON-RPC
- REST (Representational State Transfer)
